Grampian Diabetes Involvement Network

Linda McGlynn is also working hard at promoting the interaction of Diabetes UK with the NHS at decision making levels, in order to help focus primary care for people living with diabetes.  (This seems to be a topical theme given TsiMoray is about to hold its first Third Sector Health and Wellbeing Forum Moray next month.)  The Scottish Government, Aberdeenshire, (and, one assumes, Moray) Council(s), and NHS Grampian all welcome the involvement of the Third Sector in the integration of health and social care services.

Aberdeenshire Voluntary Action is holding Health and Social Care Workshops currently and there will be a presence from Diabetes Scotland also.  All meetings run from 10am to 12.30pm and forthcoming dates are:

  • Tuesday 25th August at Ellon Kirk Centre, Ellon
  • Wednesday 26th August at St Mary's Centre, Inverurie
  • Wednesday 2nd September - Hill of Banchory

TsiMoray is holding its first meeting on

  • Monday 7th September at The Inkwell, Francis Place, Elgin between 10am and 12noon.

If you feel able to contribute, whether or not you can attend a meeting, we would very much like to hear from you.  Listening to your experiences and views will help us to shape local diabetes care across Grampian.  If you have any questions or anything you wish to share, or just want to find out when the next meeting is near you, please contact
